đź“… Itinerary & Timeline
1.Meeting & Departure from Europe Square:09:00 AM • 15 minutes.
Meet your guide and fellow travelers at the central landmark of Europe Square in Tbilisi. Board the comfortable, air-conditioned tour vehicle and begin heading east toward the fertile agricultural valleys of Kakheti.
2.Badiauri Village – Bread & Cheese Experience:10:15 AM • 45 minutes • Admission Ticket Free.
Our first stop is the rustic roadside village of Badiauri, celebrated for keeping rural baking traditions alive. Step into an authentic local bakery to watch Shoti (traditional canoe-shaped Georgian bread) stick directly to the walls of a roaring clay Tone oven. Taste the bread piping hot, paired perfectly with fresh, salty local Georgian cheese.
3.Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino:11:45 AM • 45 minutes • Admission Ticket Free.
Arrive at the peaceful, cypress-lined Bodbe Monastery complex. This sacred active nunnery serves as the final resting place of Saint Nino, the 4th-century female evangelist who brought Christianity to Georgia. Take time to wander the beautifully manicured flower gardens managed by the resident nuns and absorb the profound tranquility of the grounds.
4.Sighnaghi & The Sighnaghi Wall:12:45 PM • 1 hour 30 minutes • Admission Ticket Free.
Drive just five minutes down the ridge into the romantic, 18th-century hilltop town of Sighnaghi. Walk through the charming, cobblestone streets adorned with pastel Italianate balconies. The major highlight here is exploring the Sighnaghi Wall—often called the "Great Wall of Georgia". Climb up onto the beautifully preserved 18th-century stone fortification battlements and watchtowers to take in breathtaking, panoramic views across the sweeping Alazani Valley.
5.Traditional Kakhetian Lunch & Wine Tasting:02:15 PM • 1 hour 15 minutes • Meals Not Included.
Take a break at a traditional, local winery restaurant overlooking the valley floor. Here, enjoy an included tasting of authentic regional wines crafted in traditional underground clay Qvevri vessels. You will have time to order a traditional lunch, featuring local favorites like Mtsvadi (pork skewers grilled over dried grapevines) and fresh seasonal salads.
6.Historic Telavi & The 900-Year-Old Giant Plane Tree:04:15 PM • 1 hour • Admission Ticket Free.
Travel across the valley floor to Telavi, the ancient royal capital of the Kakheti kingdom. Walk straight into the historic town center to see Telavi's proudest natural icon: the Giant Plane Tree. Standing over 40 meters tall with a trunk circumference of 12 meters, this spectacular 900-year-old tree has stood as a silent witness to centuries of Georgian history. Take photos next to its massive base and enjoy a stroll near the adjacent Batonistsikhe Castle walls.
7.Return Journey via the Gombori Pass:05:15 PM • 1 hour 45 minutes.
Board the vehicle for our return trip to Tbilisi. We take the highly scenic, winding mountain route back across the high alpine landscapes of the Gombori Pass, arriving directly back at Europe Square by approximately 7:00 PM.
